A long time resident of Taylorsville, mrs. Barbara eubank Shelburne age 79 passed away peacefully at her residence on May 20, 2013. Mrs. Shelburne was a retired school teacher for the Spencer County school system and attended the Taylorsville first Christian church. She was born in Franklin, Ky and was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. Mrs. Shelburne was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Shelburne and her parents Clay and Zelma Walker Eubank. She is survived by her nephew Troy and his wife Susan Shelburne of Taylorsville
and several other nieces and nephews.

He was born in Anderson County Ky. to the late Henry Mathis & Lena Belle Cunningham Rogers, and a native of Spencer County Ky., retired from Armour Meat Packing Company & a life long farmer. Margaret Ray “Biddie” Sullivan Montray, of Taylorsville KY. Died Wednesday June 6, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family and her caregivers. She was born in Taylorsville on June 9, 1922 to Edgar Everett Sullivan and Pauline McElroy Wakefield Sullivan. She graduated from Montreat Normal School in Montreat, NC. And she married Edward H. Montray and raised a family in Woodcliff Lake NJ. Biddie was Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood, NJ. And later at the Bog Spring-Bloomfield Presbyterian Church of Bloomfield KY. After earning her teaching certificate at Montclair State College, Montclair NJ. She taught art and home economics at the middle school in Westwood NJ, for 25 years. She is survived by her daughters Mary Lynn Montray-Scall of Maplewood NJ., and Margaret LaMarr Montray of Maplewood MO. She is also survived by her grandson Gregory Everett Gould of Yonkers NY., and granddaughters Jessica Ray Gould Mann of Jacksonville FL., and Riley Anne Montray of Maplewood NJ. She is also survived by a great grandchild, Adalynn Ray Mann of Jacksonville FL., and extended nieces, nephews & cousins. Darwin Johnson Thomas II , 84 A resident of Taylorsville Kentucky, Darwin Johnson age 84, passed away June 4, 2012 in Spencer County Ky. at Signature Healthcare. Mr. Thomas was a successful farmer and Veteran of the United States Army. He served in occupied Japan under General Macarthur. He was a member of the Bardstown Church of Christ and attended the Taylorsville 1st Baptist Church. He has been married to his wife Marie Donovan Thomas for 66 years, he was avidly involved in his grandchildren’s sports as well as Spencer county sports. He was a member of the VFW post 11426, & retired member of the Salt River Electric Board after 23 years of service. He was the founder of the National Farmers Association of Spencer County, also member of the Lions Club and Fish& Wildlife.
